Artsplan Launch Training Centre in
East Midlands
Artsplan, the training and publications department of Artswork and
the in-house training provider of ENYAN (English National Youth
Arts Network) have just announced the launch of a new Artsplan
Training Centre (ATC) at Lakeside, the University of Nottingham's
public arts centre.
This is the sixth ATC to be launched, with other centres in
Bristol, Shrewsbury, Manchester, Norwich and London, all of which
have proved a success in providing for the needs of their region.
Artsplan decided upon ATC’s with the idea to enable individuals to
access Open Courses, two of which will be run in this launch
year.
The one-day courses, ‘Evaluating Youth Arts Projects’ and ‘Using
the Arts with Young People at Risk’, have been chosen following a
period of consultation of professional development needs in the
East Midlands.
‘Evaluating Youth Arts Projects’ will run on 9th May 2007. This
course explores the benefits of meaningful evaluation of youth arts
projects. Informative and practical this course will help you
develop your own individual approach to creative evaluation and the
confidence you need to engage with evaluating youth arts
projects.
On 3rd July 2007, Artsplan will run ‘Using the Arts with Young
People at Risk’. This course explores what can be achieved when
using the arts with vulnerable and disadvantaged young people.
Using a mixture of training techniques to help educate and inform,
this course will take you all the way through project planning to
project closure, covering practical issues involved in using the
arts with young people at risk, including current CRB child
protection legislation.
Jay Barron, Artsplan Development Manager, commented: “Having had
success with the Artsplan Training Centre’s around the country we
hope we can continue this in Nottingham. It is our plan to develop
an ATC in all nine Arts Council England regions and with launch of
this one in the East Midlands it brings us even closer to this
vision.”
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance upon
successful completion of the course, and a wealth of practical
resources, including the celebrated Youth Arts Learning Passport.
Prices for the courses, which include lunch and refreshments, range
from £150 to £110, with bursaries available. Please also remember
that full ENYAN members receive 10% discount on all Artsplan
publications and training.
